Dueling Middle East Narratives Make Us All Tools
Brutes leading both Hamas and Israel are catapulting the world to oblivion
Hamas:
“We didn’t commit any atrocities — the destruction you saw on October 7th is IDF friendly fire.”
Israel:
“We didn’t inflict any friendly fire — the destruction you saw on October 7th is Hamas atrocities.”
Both are wrong:
Hamas committed atrocities, and Israel inflicted collateral damage.
Don’t believe the hype from either, both of whom want to blast the shit out of Gaza, each for their own pernicious reasons:
Israel wants to kill all Hamas to finally get rid of them, while Hamas wants Israel to kill as many Palestinian civilians as possible to win the information war.
These swirling facts and strategies are confusing most people on all sides of the conflict. Meanwhile the human suffering is horrific.
Hang on to your senses, and your humanity. Overcome your tribal instincts. Realize that we’re all tools of evil, corrupt leaders on both sides.
